Associations & Certifications
Olive Group Limited is one of the first companies in the UK to be accredited under the Security Industry Authority’s (SIA) Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) for close protection services. The SIA was set up in 2003 under the Private Security Industry Act 2001 to regulate the private security industry in the UK. The SIA licenses individuals to be able to work in the private security industry and also set up the ACS as a rigorous quality scheme specific to security companies.
Olive Group is certified by Certified Quality Systems in both its London and Dubai offices to ISO 9001:2000 standards. CQS is an organisation specialising in ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001 assessment and certification. CQS are accredited by the International Accreditation Board and are inspected regularly.
The International Accreditation Board accredits Olive Group’s ISO certification body, CQS. IAB is an Independent Accreditor servicing the needs of Certifier and Certified alike. With an international emphasis, the IAB promotes mutual recognition of all accreditors.
Olive Group is a founder member of the British Association of Private Security Companies. The BAPSC was formed by leading members of the private security industry to promote, enhance and regulate the interests and activities of UK based firms and companies that provide armed security services in countries outside the UK. The BAPSC is committed to working with all partners in appropriate markets to ensure that the services provided by its members maintain the maximum degree of integrity, transparency and respect for international law.
Olive Group is a member of the Defence Manufacturers’ Association. DMA is actively involved in increasing representation to government, influencing policy development affecting European defence rationalisation, formalising existing links with equivalent trade associations in Europe, the USA, Canada and Australia, expanding its market intelligence service, developing an offset brokerage facility and ensuring that defence industry issues are fairly reported by the media.
Olive Group is a member of the International Peace Operations Association. The IPOA is committed to maintaining industry-wide standards to ensure sound and ethical professional and military practices in the conduct of peacekeeping and post-conflict reconstruction activities. All member companies subscribe to the IPOA Code of Conduct, based on the belief that high standards will both benefit the industry and serve the greater causes of human security and development.
Olive Group is a member of the Private Security Company Association of Iraq. The PSCAI is a non-profit organisation formed and maintained to discuss and address matters of mutual interest and concern to the industry conducting operations in Iraq. The PSCAI seeks to work closely with the Iraqi Government and foster a relationship of trust and understanding.
Olive Group is an approved training provider of the City & Guilds’ Certificate in Close Protection Level 3 in both its London and Memphis offices.
Olive Group is in the process of accrediting some of its own training courses with City & Guilds. City & Guilds is the UK's leading vocational awarding body, offering over 500 qualifications over 28 industry sectors, through 8500 approved centres in over 100 countries worldwide.
Olive Group recognises and complies with the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights. These Principles have been developed by the governments of the US, the UK, Norway and the Netherlands, companies in the extractive and energy sectors and non-governmental organisations “to guide companies in balancing the needs for safety while respecting human rights and fundamental freedoms”.
