Alex Baird
Technical Director, IS3
As Technical Director for IS3 Alex is responsible for the delivery of all technical services offered by the IS3 business unit. This includes managing threat and risks audits lead teams, technical head on conceptual and detailed designs across all aspects of design life cycles. Alex also acts in an advisory capacity in tender management and project management instances for the various design and build infrastructural projects in the EMEA region.
With 17 years international experience in the security industry Alex has amassed a wealth of work experience with all the major security component manufacturers/integrators in both RD and technical management capacities. He has an excellent knowledge of new technologies in the areas of communications, C4I, logical/physical security in addition to Citrix enabled capabilities. Alex has been actively involved in “proof of concepts of various technologies globally specifically in high-end security solutions, building management systems, transport systems (Maritime, Air, Rail). Alex joined Olive Group from Siemens Building Technologies (Gmbh) where he was a Technical Head, developing concepts/designs and implementing integrated solutions throughout the UK, Europe, US and the Middle East specifically in Commercial environments, Transportation, Maritime , Oil and Gas , Financial Services, Public sectors and National Critical Infrastructure Protection.
Alex holds masters in management, BSc in electrical engineering and a Microsoft certified specialist status accreditation.

Bruce Trowbridge
Vice President, Group Financial Controller
As Vice President of Finance Bruce is responsible for managing the financial integrity and discipline of the company through accounting, financial reporting, planning & forecasting, internal controls, tax & audit liaison and due diligence for potential mergers and acquisitions.
Bruce was formerly a Senior Finance Manager for General Dynamics responsible for leading a team with financial management and oversight of a $500M information systems and technology line of business. He has also held management positions with Veridian Corp and Coopers & Lybrand where he developed various financial disciplines including Auditing, Corporate Accounting, U.S. Government Accounting, and Financial Reporting.
Bruce has received a BS in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University, an MBA finance concentration from the George Washington University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Darren Bance
Senior Vice President & General Manager, IS3 MENA
As Vice President, Darren is responsible for strategy, business development, client management and project delivery across the MENA region for the IS3 division. Darren leads a rapidly growing team of Risk Consultants, Engineers and Project Managers who are involved in both technical and strategic systems assessment and design.
Darren joined Olive Group from the Capita Group Plc in the UK where he worked for 6 years as the Director responsible for the Technology Division within the Capita Symonds consultancy. The division consisted of more than 50 technology specialists and focused on the Security, Telecoms, Intelligent Transport Systems and Intelligent Buildings sectors.
As part of his role, he managed large technology driven, integration projects such as the highly successful implementation and operation of the London Congestion Charging Scheme CCTV, telecoms and data centre infrastructure. One of Darren’s key responsibilities was to provide consultancy services to the Capita Group Plc in the form of integrated technology solutions delivered by the Technology Team. These Group run implementation projects were generally in excess of $200million in value and for the public sector.
Darren graduated from the University of Wales, Cardiff where he obtained a BSc Honours degree in City and Regional Planning.

Dave Collins
Director IPS, UK
As Director of IPS UK, Dave is responsible for recruiting and deploying manpower for all operations globally and to plan and coordinate all operations outside of the Middle East and North African region.
Dave joined Olive Group in January 2005 initially as the Operations Deployment Manager. Dave has had a long military history with the British Army spanning 33 years, enlisting into the Parachute Regiment as a Private soldier in 1972 and being promoted through the ranks to Major. Dave has held numerous operational appointments throughout his career and in more recent years commanded the Close Observation Training Advisor Team for 3 years and was the Joint Intelligence Committees Liaison Officer to Baghdad 2004. He has also held numerous staff appoints.

Gary Laing
Vice President, Training, USA
Gary joined Olive Group from the Department of State’s Anti-terrorism Assistance Program in Afghanistan and Indonesia, where he served three years as a Program Manager with an annual operating budget of $6-8M. Gary, a former US Army Special Forces officer, has over 20 years experience in program management, foreign military and law enforcement personnel training, and security operations. While with the Department of State, he was responsible for developing all operational and logistical support for the program. Gary’s management practices resulted in savings of over $1.1 million in 2004 and 2005, and the program was cited as the best managed and most pro-active in DS/ATA.
Prior to his work at the Department of State, Gary held management positions with several security companies and programs, including Kroll, Brown and Root (now KBR), and Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe. Gary also provided risk assessment and contingency planning services to various companies in the foreign sector.
Gary holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.

James Houghton
Business Development Director, IPS
As Business Development Director for IPS, James is responsible for business development in Olive Group’s specialist and high risk security operations in conflict and post conflict zones.
James joined Olive Group after 12 years in the British Army served in the Black Watch and 22 Special Air Service. During this time he gained a vast range of operational and strategic experience. His final appointment was Special Forces Operations Officer at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE), NATO. Among his roles James assisted in the development and integration of various Special Forces into the NATO framework.
James graduated from the University of the West of England where he obtained a BA Honours degree in Social Sciences.

Liam Anderstrem
Business Development Director, IS3
As Business Development Director for IS3, Liam is responsible for managing the business development team, bringing opportunities to the company and developing key level contacts across all target markets.
Liam joined Olive in late 2006, bringing with him a vast network of contacts and wealth of knowledge in the security industry, in particular within the Middle East region. Liam previously worked for a security consultancy practice in Bahrain, where he had been the Head of Technical Services for 6 years. Liam has provided risk management consultancy, project management and bespoke security design services on some of the world’s most challenging and significant projects including work for GCC Governments, major property developers and multi-national companies. His sector experience includes construction/real estate, Oil&Gas, financial, aviation, maritime and tourism. He is a regular speaker at industry events, including most recently a series of keynote addresses on the subject of intelligent security planning in tall buildings and urban developments.

Martin Rudd
Vice President & General Manager, UK
As UK General Manager Martin is responsible for managing all aspects of the UK business including strategy, business development and UK client management.
Martin has 23 years of management experience in the security sector, both commercial and public, and prior to joining Olive Group, Martin worked as a consultant providing commercial strategic security consulting advice. Martin’s early career was as a commissioned officer in the British Army where he served in a wide variety of staff and operational appointments, including logistics, bomb disposal and Special Forces. In these roles he has advised public and commercial organisations as well as VIPs, on protective security issues in the UK and abroad. In his last military appointment in the Ministry of Defence he was the Programme Manager responsible for overseeing the management and procurement of over 200 equipment projects with a combined budget of £1.3bn.
Martin holds an Executive MBA from Imperial College London, a Masters Degree in Technology and Procurement from Cranfield University, and a Masters Degree in Defence Studies from Kings College London. He was trained in Risk Management Consultancy at Cranfield University and is a Qualified PRINCE2 Practitioner.

Meg Williams
Vice President, Strategic Analysis
As Vice President for Strategic Analysis Meg is responsible for quality assurance in the delivery of intelligence services to key accounts and partners. During the six years that Meg led Olive Group’s MEA analysis capability she successfully developed the company’s network of expert sources in high risk environments.
Delivery of bespoke intelligence has allowed Meg to develop exceptionally strong customer relations and in so doing, a deep understanding of the specific security risk mitigation and due diligence needs of a broad spectrum of blue chip companies. Meg therefore understands not only the problem – the threat – but also the solution. It is for this reason that her role has evolved to incorporate strategic business development capacity over time.
The team of regional experts Meg has built around her, supported by hundreds of deployed Olive consultants, has provided frequent early warning of outbursts of civil unrest, criminal and terrorist attacks and is now recognized as specialist on the evolution of targeted and situational threats faced by host nations, their critical national infrastructure and the associated expatriate business and contractor communities.
Meg is author of Olive Group’s acclaimed book Kidnapping in Iraq and contributes to Jane’s Intelligence Review. She moved into the Risk Analysis field from Private Investigation for which she was assigned to Latin America. Prior to this Meg worked on NGO projects in Colombia, Sri Lanka and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Meg graduated from Edinburgh University with a First Class MA Hons degree.

Dr Michael Knights
Director, Strategic Analysis & Assessment
As Director of Strategic Analysis & Assessment, Mike is responsible for developing and delivering predictive assessments to senior clients working in Iraq and the Gulf States.
Mike joined Olive Group after being a consultant on security issues in the Gulf States. He has been a regular contributor to business intelligence providers such as Jane's Information Group, Oxford Analytica, the Financial Times and the Economist. In addition to providing executive briefings to business decision-makers, Mike has lectured at both U.S. and British military institutions on Gulf security and was involved in briefing the USS Bataan Expeditionary Strike Group when it was deployed to the Gulf in January 2007. From 2003 - 2004 Mike served as a Gulf Security Research Associate at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. Having worked with the U.S. Department of Defence, Mike has also undertaken extensive research on lessons learned from U.S. military activities in the CENTCOM area of operations.
Mike received his undergraduate and PhD degrees at the Department of War Studies, King’s College London and is the author of three books on Gulf security.

Mike Smith
Vice President, IPS, USA
As Vice President of IPS Mike supports Europe, Middle East and Africa security operations and business development activities. Mike was instrumental in opening the North American market for Olive Group in 2005 and establishing the Olive Security Training Centre, located near Memphis, TN.
Prior to joining Olive Group, Mike served as the Senior Advisor for Counterterrorism and Special Operations Division for the Ministry of the Interior in the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq throughout 2004 and then in the Iraq Reconstruction Management Office (IRMO). In this position Mike advised the counter-terrorism division on all aspects of counterterrorism and special operations. He oversaw the training and equipping of over 6000 Iraqi Special Operations police officers and managed a budget in excess of $500 million.
Mike previously worked as a branch chief in the Department of State’s Antiterrorism Assistance Program, where he established police special operations training programs and facilities in Afghanistan, Colombia, Indonesia and Pakistan. Mike served eight years in the U. S. Army in Special Forces units and was a member of the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment – D (Delta Force) and has spent over 18 years in the reserves in various Special Forces and Special Operations units.
Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Russian language from Georgetown University and a Master of Science in journalism from Columbia University.

Neil Anderson
Director, New Ventures
As New Ventures Director, Neil is responsible for planning & new business opportunities in the developing world. Neil advises on strategy regarding partnership formation, formal setup, service offering & business development and also pioneers market entries.
Neil joined Olive Group with over 24 years of experience delivering security solutions in a wide and diverse range of international environments. In the early part of Neil’s career he served with the Infantry in the British Territorial and Regular Army at overseas posts including Northern Ireland & BAOR Germany.
Since 1993 Neil has resided in the Middle East, African and Asian geographies where he has set up large security business’s & run projects up to $50 million.
Neil’s exposures have been at operational, tactical and strategic levels and he has lead and managed large manpower and technical special security projects. Neil has advised a wide range of governments, NGO’s and Commercial entities on security in all facets of security programs and has developed policy and procedural documents for a number of large organizations.
Neil is member of ASIS and a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and plays an active role in the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC).

Ranjiv Kad
Director, SecureLocate™
As Director of SecureLocate™ Kad is responsible for strategy, business development, product portfolio, research and development, financial plans and client relationships of the service.
Kad joined Olive Group from Capita where previously he was a Director responsible for programme and project delivery of many prestigious projects including the London Congestion Charging Scheme and the Lorry Road User Charging project. Kad also worked in Business transformation setting up the PMO for Service Birmingham supporting 55,000 staff. Previously a consultant Kad worked in setting strategy and direction for many start up companies.
Kad has over 20 years IT and Telecommunications experience having worked primarily for Royal Mail in road transport and information systems monitoring a fleet in excess of 35,000 vehicles and engaging objectives and work-streams over the full project lifecycle. This included complex contractual negotiations and financial modeling with measurable benefits achieved.

Richard Evans
Director, Strategic Analysis and Assessments (SA2)
As Director of Strategic Analysis and Assessments Richard is responsible for supporting client strategic decision-making through the provision of a range of intelligence products and services. Richard was formerly Senior Specialist (Terrorism and Insurgency) at Jane’s Strategic Advisory Services (JSAS), the consultancy arm of Jane’s Information Group, the defence and security publisher founded in 1898. In this capacity he served as an advisor to government, law enforcement, and military intelligence communities worldwide, specializing in the fields of terrorism threat and risk assessment, and best practice in the collection and use of open source information and intelligence.
In 2003 Richard played a lead in role in the development of Jane’s Terrorism and Insurgency Centre (JTIC), the widely-respected online terrorism threat assessment resource for the intelligence community.
Richard joined Jane’s in 2001, initially as a journalist specializing in crime and security issues in Northern Ireland, and additionally contributing to numerous Jane’s security publications on matters of international terrorism.

Ted Timberlake
Vice President and General Counsel
As Vice President and General Counsel of Olive Group North America, Ted is responsible for government contracting, statutory and regulatory compliance, commercial business transactions, technology licensing, dispute resolution and litigation, ethics and compliance, intellectual property protection and exploitation, corporate governance, and mergers and acquisitions.
Ted joined Olive Group from General Dynamics, where he served as served as Assistant General Counsel for General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, a $2.5 billion operating subsidiary of General Dynamics. Prior to his admission to the Bar, Ted served as Director of Contracts for Veda Incorporated, a $125 million professional technical and engineering services company that was acquired by Veridian Corporation.
Ted has worked on several strategic mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. He represented Veridian in connection with its initial public offering and multi-million dollar private equity and debt financing transactions, and he participated in several Veridian acquisitions.
Ted received his juris doctor degree, magna cum laude, from Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia.

Tim Roberts
Vice President, IS3, UK
As Vice President of IS3 UK, Tim leads a team of Consultants and Engineers involved in both technical and strategic systems design whilst also having responsibilities for strategy, business development and mergers and acquisitions.
Prior to joining Olive Group Tim spent 14 years as the lead Technical Advisor to the UK Home Office on the development and implementation of the strategic vision for a UK-wide Vehicle movement monitoring capability. Tim has a wealth of experience in providing security advice, technical design, procurement and application of security solutions within the public and private sectors. This includes the technical design and project Management of UK Government national programmes and high-profile security solutions for the UK Police Service.
Tim joined Olive after 18 years at Capita where he was Director of Security Consultancy. During that time, Tim built this area of the business from scratch into a best-of-breed business that was highly respected, Tim was Programme Director for the implementation of integrated technical security solutions at a significant number of major UK sea and airports. Tim was also the Project Manager for the deployment of the City of London Police ‘Ring of Steel’, which subsequently formed the bench mark for urban wide-area cordon security worldwide.
Tim graduated from the University of Kent , where he obtained a BSc Honours degree in Mathematics.
