David St. George David St. George
Chairman

David St.George is the Chairman and co-founder of Olive Group.

David was previously a Director and Member of Senior Management at Union Bancaire Privée, working between London and Geneva, where he was responsible for hedge fund portfolios of US$4.5 billion. Prior to Union Bancaire Privée, he worked for Banco Garantia in Brazil and Flemings in London.  He also practiced as a Barrister in the UK. David is also Chairman and co-founder of Global Brands Group, a licensing agency and brand consultancy, and a member of the Advisory Board of the St. Louis Rams.

David graduated with a B.A. Hons. degree in Law from Trinity College, Cambridge.

John Hassoun John Hassoun
Chief Executive Officer

John joined Olive Group in 2006 in the capacity of SVP for Global Business Development. In June 2007, John was promoted to the role of President, Europe, Middles East and North Africa, and assumed the role of Group Chief Executive Officer in January 2008.

Prior to joining Olive Group, John was the Vice President and General Manager for the Engineering Development and Integration Services Strategic (EDIS) Business Unit. This $500M per year business unit is part of General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (GDAIS), employed approximately 2500 people and is a national leader in the development of complex systems including Modeling and Simulation, Decision Support and Knowledge Management, Secure Systems Development and Information Assurance, and Mission Support. Prior to his promotion John served in the capacities of EDIS Director of Operations and the GDAIS Director of Business Development and Mergers and Acquisitions.

From 2000 to 2003, John was Senior Vice President for the Information and Space Sector of Veridian. His focus was on various -related technology development programs. From 1997 to 2000 John served in two key leadership positions within the Systems Analysis and Research Group of Veridian. His emphasis was on establishing business that fostered the successful transition of Government-sponsored R&D initiatives into innovative and marketable large scale systems solutions and products.

Previously John spent seven years working for the Unites States Air Force as the Human Factors Technical Expert and Program Manager for the $30 million high-tech Modeling and Simulation centre.

Christopher St. George Christopher St. George
Managing Director

Chris St. George is the Managing Director and co-founder of Olive Group.

Chris has a Corporate Development role with responsibilities for group strategy, merges and acquisitions, partner and investor relations and strategic business development. Chris has both a military and entrepreneurial background having previously been involved in a number of successful start-up businesses including the Third Space Health and Fitness, where he was the founding director and leading shareholder prior to its successful divestiture to Graphite Capital.

Chris was commissioned into the British Army in 1992 and served with the Coldstream Guards and the Parachute Regiment.  During his career, Chris spent much of his time on operations or managing training tasks in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia.  Chris gained valuable experience through training soldiers at all phases of their career development, from junior command level through to the preparation of officers and senior soldiers as candidates for UK Special Forces selection.  Chris' operational experience includes tours to Northern Ireland and Bosnia. 

Chris was awarded the Sword of Honour at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst 1992 and the United Nations Force Commanders Commendation in 1994.

Gavin Mayhew Gavin Mayhew
Managing Director, IPS

As President of IPS, Gavin is responsible for strategic direction and the day-to-day operations of the IPS business. Gavin joined Olive Group in 2003 from The Third Space, one of London's largest Health and Fitness Centres where he was the General Manager and an Operating Board member since its start up in 2000.

Gavin has a wealth of commercial experience and expertise gained during his career in the international arena. He gained some of this international experience while working for GTECH, the world's leading international online lottery and gaming provider in Mexico City, where he ran the database design consultancy for the Mexican Lottery and established the GTECH Marketing Department. Gavin spent two years developing his marketing and research skills in over 10 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean when he ran the GTECH in-house Latin American market research team. Gavin's flair for international business and commercial activity began with his first job, based in San Francisco, managing on-going operations for The Sharper Image in a number of countries including Mexico, Switzerland, Japan and Australia.

Gavin holds an MBA from INSEAD, France, and a BA from Brown University, USA and is fluent in Spanish.

John Yourston MMJohn Yourston MM
Managing Director, Security Operations

As Vice President, of IPS John is responsible for the operational management of Olive Group’s specialist and high risk security operations in conflict and post conflict zones. John is a founding member of Olive Group and before taking up his current position he spent three years working as Director of Operations in Iraq.

John's extensive career in the British Army saw him retiring as a Captain after 25 years, including 17 years service with the Special Air Service Regiment. John's considerable experience and expertise has greatly assisted Olive Group in achieving commercial success and becoming an industry leader. John's last post in the British Army was Chief Instructor of the British Army Specialist Reconnaissance Team training programme, which he completed in 2002. Other positions held during his career included a tour of duty as the Regimental Sergeant Major of 21 SAS (1999–2001) and Executive Officer of the UK Military Counter Terrorist Response Team (1998–1999). John was also a Selection Instructor on the UK Special Forces assessment programme (1991–1993). He served on operations in the Falklands Conflict, the Gulf War, Northern Ireland and the Balkans.

John has a Masters Degree in Risk & Security Management from Leicester University.
